Dissidia Aces - Cycle 02 Application

My Application for Cycle 02 of

They're all Crystal Chronicles characters LOL (Well the Crystal Chronicles games are my favorites ) I really, really, really, REALLY hope I get Layle. I never thought I would have competition for him in the prelims but, lo and behold, someone else wants him too..... *sob* I worked so hard on this app, though, and I'm confident in my skills, so may the best artist win! (I used acronyms for the game titles because there was no way these long titles were gonna fit in those itty bitty spaces...)

Layle - Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: The Crystal Bearers.
My favorite Final Fantasy Character of all time, I was absolutely thrilled to hear that he would be allowed in the tournament this time around. I've never played a game where the main character is aloof most of the time and only joins a fight if it seems interesting or if there's something in it for him. Even when the villain had kidnapped the princess (of course) and was basically gonna end the world, Layle only fights him because he has a score to settle with him. He's not interested in saving the princess or even the world - he's only concerned about whether it will be a good fight or not. He's definitely the most interesting main character I've encountered, and my favorite by far.

Keiss - Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: The Crystal Bearers.
Keiss is my second favorite (and from the same game as my favorite - go figure) Keiss would call himself an opportunist, he's willing to make any deal (legal or otherwise) to advance himself towards his goal. He'll steal, plot, back-stab, you name it - all the while looking like an upstanding citizen. He's got a silver tongue perfect for his type of "business" - he'll rob you blind and have you convinced that you wanted to give him your money. A man of mystery, nothing is as it appears with Keiss.

Artemicion - Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles.
Artemicion (or Arty for short) is a moogle, but what sets him apart from other moogles is the fact that instead of helping the main character, he will steal from him. Arty is a member of the striped apple brigands (as you can see from the striped apple in place of his pom pom) and together with his two companions he'll rob you blind. Keep a close eye on your gil when Artemicion is nearby. I'm going to be honest, I originally only chose Artemicion because I couldn't think of a third character that I wanted to draw. I figured that I would just draw him as a placeholder and that I would never actually get him. But alas, I could not draw him. I tried and tried but it just wouldn't come out right. So I spent two days drawing nothing but moogles. MOOGLES, MOOGLES, MOOGLES - they filled my sketchbook to the brim until I could draw one without references. Now I can say that I do enjoy drawing Artemicion. (I still really want Layle though...)
